Beyaz & Patel is providing structural engineering services for the design of a new advanced water treatment facility for the City of San Diego. The city is implementing the Pure Water Program which utilizes water purification technology to treat recycled water that is produced at the North City Water Reclamation Plant (NCWRP). The purpose of the Program is to provide a safe and reliable local water supply through reservoir augmentation; reduce the dependence on imported water; increase use of recycled water produced at the NCWRP; reduce flows to the Point Loma Wastewater Treatment Plant (PLWTP); and develop a drought-proof local source of water for San Diego.
Beyaz & Patel was responsible for the structural design, drawings and specifications for the ozone, microfiltration and reverse osmosis, and bacteria-activated carbon buildings and facilities. Other facilities include the chemical building and appurtenances, Lime facility, LOX facility, and the electrical and MCC building. Once design is complete in 2019, Beyaz & Patel will provide construction management support services including field visits and responding to RFIs.
